% Of Britons Eye Property Purchase In Bulgaria,
Romania
One in seven Britons is considering purchasing
property in Bulgaria or Romania, following the
countries' EU accession at the beginning of
this year, according to a new survey. The number
of foreign visitors to Bulgaria went up by 8.3
% last year, bringing the total in 2006 to 1.5
million, while visitors to Romania went up from
800,000 in 2000 to 1.4 million in 2004, the
study by MRI Overseas Property found out. More

To Build 2000 Km Of Motorways During 2008-2018
The government plans to open 200 km of motorway
per year during 2008-2018 to upgrade Romania's
transportation system, Romania's Minister of
Transports, Construction and Tourism Radu Berceanu
said on Wednesday. Currently, funding for Romania's
motorways construction has primarily come from

The Habsburg family said Wednesday that it
wanted to sell a Transylvanian castle famous
for its connections to the 15th century medieval
ruler who inspired "Dracula" for $78 million

EUR 50 M Golf Club, Near Bucharest
Swiss Golf & Leisure Development has begun
the project of the biggest golf club in Romania
– Golf and Country Club Bucharest, a project
that needs total investments worth EUR 50 M.
The project is located less than five kilometres
to Bucharest, in Zurbaua commune, between Chitila
and Buftea. The construction works will start
in March, and construction finalisation is planned

2 New EU Members Enjoying Property Boom
Buzesti Street used to be one of the shabbiest
parts of Bucharest with crumbling, Communist-era
structures and one of the city's roughest markets.
Now, gleaming multistory buildings have turned
the area into one of the capital's new business
centers — testimony to a property boom sweeping
Romania and Bulgaria, the newest members of
the European Union. "It used to be hell here,"
said Toader Grigoras, a 55-year-old priest who
has lived in the neighborhood for more than
a decade. "It's good now that all the mountains
of garbage have gone, but there's a lot of noise."
